I help children and teens become capable, confident readers.
As a former special education teacher and school-based reading specialist, my goal has always been to help all students become confident and capable readers. My approach is rooted in evidence-based, multisensory learning (think Orton-Gillingham and UFLI!) to explicitly teach the foundational skills needed for reading success.
My instruction follows the Science of Reading, a collection of decades of research on how children learn to read. That means using proven, evidence-based methods to build strong readers through explicit and systematic instruction. Sessions are individualized and one-on-one, with a personalized, ongoing learning plan to build your reader’s skills, confidence, and independence.

Comprehensive Reading Evaluations
A clear look at your child’s reading strengths and next steps. Evaluations can be a stand-alone service or completed before intervention sessions begin.
Reading Intervention
One-on-one targeted lessons for students in grades K–12. Each lesson is crafted to fit the reader’s needs and responsive to their progress.
Teaching grounded in the Science of Reading
Decades of research show how children learn to read. My lessons follow that research.
Children aren’t expected to guess at words. They’re taught how reading works, then given plenty of practice.
Multi-Sensory
Lessons include major pathways to the brain: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.
Sequential
Concepts are taught in a logical, research-based sequence.
Incremental
Each lesson carefully builds upon the previous lesson.
Cumulative
Constant and consistent review of previously taught concepts is provided.
